Sunday is the race!

Color Run Here I come!  Today I ran 3.3 miles in preparation for the race on Sunday, it went well, however I am running a little slower mile than I did for my last 5K.  I'm hoping that on race day excitement kicks in and that I can beat my times from last years 5K.  After that I am going to try and add on to my distance so I can run a 10K!

5 more days until Denver...

On another note, I'm asking everyone to pray for my as the job hunt continues, there have been ups and downs.  God has a plan for me and one my favorite verses seems fitting:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares theLord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Yay Graduation Day!

Getting Back on the Horse

So confession time....  I didn't sign up for the Boulder Boulder, this semester kind of got away from me.  I have been able to keep off the weight I lost initially, for the most part.  Another bright note is that I graduated from my Master's program this weekend.  My sister made it very special by staying up an extra day to play board games, shop, and chat.   The rest of my family also made it pretty special.  Also, today I started training for the Color Run, which is a 5k in June.  I'm still hoping to work up to run a 10k.  I'm working on being healthier, exercising, and eating right.  Another big thing I'm working on is trying to find a job in my field.  God is good and I'm trusting that He will provide.  I'll keep everyone posted!

Wow, What a Weekend?!?!

God was so good this weekend!  I went to the Women of Faith conference in Colorado Springs with my sister.  God spoked and moved through the entire crowed. All of the speakers were amazing.  The speakers were Lisa HarperLysa Terkeurst, and Sheila Walsh.  All of these women love the Lord and amazing women of God!  I feel like I'm on the verge of something amazing and God is leading me there. I can't wait to see what it is.  I'm prayerfully asking that God will lead me on the right path!  This week is crazy thesis week, so I'm not sure how much I will post.  But I wanted to share how great of weekend it was!  God loves us so much!

Today's scripture:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  - Romans 8:38-39 NIV

Happy late Valentine's  Day!  Once again its Friday, so I'm reporting that this week has been with its ups and downs.  I think I have been in thesis and school mode.   Monday was a challenge for working out.  I was supposed to run three miles and concentrate on having long strides.  I made it half way and then had to walk the rest of the way.  Then on Thursday it was snowing, so I decided to do yoga and ride my stationary bike inside instead of running.  I suppose it's better then not working out at all.  With all this I felt like this week was the most challenging, for some reason.  This morning I got on the scale I lost 3 lbs (that's a total of 15 lbs since Christmas, yay), which was very encouraging.  Tomorrow I am heading to the Women of Faith Conference.  I think this weekend is a much need break and  I'm hoping to come back refreshed.  Yay for the weekend!

In honor of Valentine's Day what is love....

Love.
We were made for it.
Made to love. Made to be loved. Made to say love. Made to know love.
But did you know you were made by Love?
Love thought you into existence.
Love knit you together in your mother’s womb and then breathed life into your soul.
Love gave you a purpose.
Love gave you a name.
Love knows the number of hairs on your head and number of thoughts inside it.
Love knows your every move, your every secret, your every victory, your every tear, your every chuckle, your every sigh.
Love made you.
You see . . . Love is a Someone.
Love Is
From Jenna Lucado Bishop's new book, Love Is…

(I'm putting this on to read list)
Today's verse:
Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

TGIF!

Smile because it is Friday!  Yesterday, I ran 3 miles (with a few walks in between).  Today, was a yoga and stretching day.  Finding motivation to work out is hard when it is cold outside and you just want to be in your warm bed with a cup of coffee.  My roommates have been such a blessing; they do yoga with me at night and in the morning to help keep me on track.  This blog is a good motivation tool as well, I feel like I have committed to this and it keeps me accountable.  I couldn't help but think that accountability in other aspects of your life is important to.  If you struggle with binge eating, or anger, or gossiping, or anything else having accountability with other people is such an important thing to help keep you on the right path.  Having a accountability partner who is loving is such a great thing and is the way God designed it.

Today's Verse

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works...

Getting over cold feet!

After my alarm went off at 6:34 am (I always set my alram for weird times, it keeps life interesting) and seeing that it was 21 degrees outside, I spent a good half an hour trying to talk my self out of running, and debating what to wear.  I finally put my running shoes on and went outside.  I ran for 2.19 miles and my average pace was 13.47 minute miles.  I did have to walk a few times.  It felt liberating to run outside on a peaceful morning.
The run program I'm doing is an every other day run and I'm still trying to decide what I want to do on my off days.  I think I will do a combination of Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown and and Nike Women's Training App (this is another free app, with great work outs).  So overall, day one was a success!  Taking the first steps and running is a great start to a new journey...
